Scerbo digitally intervenes on his shots through an articulated process that involves the use of IT tools currently developed by the most avant-garde currents of crypto and digital art. The artist holes, erodes and reformulates the visual data of his jpg files, merging them with digital elements of all kinds: screenshots taken on the net, jpg results obtained with artificial intelligence, 3D drawing scraps, his own photographs subjected to erosion processes. Elements that are subsequently harmonized and merged together on the graphic table with digital painting.
The new "Voce del verbo” series, arises from the artist's need to give voice to the touching relationship that according to Scerbo will change the human perception of reality: the invisible contact between organic matter and virtual matter, with all the influences still unknown that will be able to change not only human thought but also his body. In the light of this personal evolution, Scerbo has decided to link the new digital works to the photographic series Key Shots (2018-2022) by creating a "twinning".
Scerbo - Giuseppe Solinas was born in Biella on February 14, 1984. After graduating in computer science, he studied theoretical philosophy. He began his self-taught artistic career in 2008, experimenting with drawing and oil painting, of a strongly metaphysical nature. After the first exhibitions, he dedicated himself to deepening performance art and started a personal way of fusion between performance and installation.
Between 2017 and 2019 he started the first important exhibitions:
-(In/stabilità, exhibition project curated by Gaia Disaró and Tommaso Pagani, Paratissima 13, ex Caserma La Marmora, Turin)
-(Waking dream, curated by Maria Abramenko, exhibition space 308 Nulla è perduto, Milan) In the same period he devoted himself to video/sound art, showing his still current interest in electronic music of Alva Noto, Burial and other artists of an experimental nature.
In 2020 his digital work was selected for Green Ideal – video art section of the Green Ideal competition for the Turin technology biennial. Since 2020 he has dedicated himself to experimental photography and digital art.
After his entry into the crypto-art scene and the collaboration with the Italian brand Corneliani (Ultracapi – Scerbo for Corneliani curated by Sofia Baldi, Palazzo Durini, Milan), Scerbo devoted himself more to digital work, inspired by data recycling processes and AI mergers with his photograph.
