Cycle of Destruction Open Edition by Vhils

Creation intrinsically involves destruction, which in turn is itself an act of creation.

This infinite cycle has been at the core of my artistic practice since the very beginning, starting out with graffiti writing, which I have always understood as an act of conception, as opposed to vandalism.
My first and second drop on Nifty Gateway, began a new exploration of destruction and creation with the release of explosion video artworks, along with the incorporation of the detritus they produce. I aimed at establishing a community-driven concept where holders of my work could interfere in its creation by burning or “exploding” previously acquired NFT.

This present drop, Cycle of Destruction, is a natural sequence to this process with a continuous ephemerality in my NFT works and marks the vision that my holders may rely on as I continue to explore paths to create value for my past and future collectors.

It comprises of 1 Open Edition, 1 Ranked Auction and Burns for holders, introducing a connection and access to physical artworks and rarer editions.

Holders that have Peace and Love NFTs (only applicable to holders who own both) will be able to claim a NFT Open edition, for $1, on December 27th on NiftyGateway.

Glare
Dating back from 2014, Glare is an output of one of my oldest explosion projects. It comes to show how the NFT space has allowed artists to show, in new formats, works that were developed in other contexts and aligns with the never-ending creation and destruction cycle, that is central to my body of work.

This open edition will be open for 10 minutes, starting at 6.30PM EST.
