OUROBOROS COLLECTION

Mother nature is complex, elegant and majestic, but we haven't treated her this way for a very long time. We take and take and give so little in return. We chop the trees, poison the ocean and pollute the weather as if it’s an infinite resource. There was a time of peace with mother nature, where we took what we needed and left what we didn’t. We thrived together, and now we don’t. A full circle with the snake eating itself. While mother nature can replenish. We can’t do the same. Eventually, if we keep heading towards this path at a full speed with no breaks. Mother nature will just reclaim what we took, leaving us behind. Fertilizing her soil.

The ouroboros or uroboros, is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail.

About the Drop

We bring for the first time to Nifty Gateway the visual artist and musician, Gassan Aqel, in the NFT space since 2021 and with presence on platforms such as SuperRare or Markersplace. The Ourobos collection consists of 4 designs, offered as Open Editions, that reflect on our relationship with nature, contemplating the possibility that we are eating our own tail as in the Ouroboros symbol. Do we?

Gassan Aqel is a visual artist and a musician. He’s been doing art for the past 12 years and a full time artist for the past 6 years. He joined the NFT space in January 2021. He has a background in production, video games and animation. With this background, he incorporates that in his art, mixing digital painting techniques with digital art methods.The topics he usually explores are love, consumerism, philosophy, psychology, sexuality, depression and the environment.
