My first drop, Pressure Analysis, is a set of 3 photographs derived from the ongoing body of work named Twenty Seven Seventy Two. This collection seeks to investigate the direct impact of the strongest hurricane to make landfall in Louisiana, Hurricane Laura, and the aftermath of the destruction of my hometown of Lake Charles, Louisiana in the summer of 2020. These images push back from the mass media aesthetic of complete destruction and aim to highlight the resilience and adaptability of a landscape that is berated with an aggressive climate crisis. These photographs showcase a dramaticized softness to the reality of the ongoing cycle and violences of poverty against both my family and the broadened region of the American South. The works offer the holder a place of rest without resisting the reality of the landscape involved.
The Open Editions will start on July 21 at 6pm ET and will be available for 24 hours only. Multiple purchases per user allowed.
