Liquid Summer is the shared vision of Slimesunday and Playboy. Slimesunday is a revolutionary artist who creates provocative commentary on the connection between the past, present and future. The concept of fluidity ripples throughout Liquid Summer in overt and nuanced ways. Drawing from Playboy’s historic archives, infused with rich detail from Playboy lore and Slimesunday’s imagination, and informed by the NFT community, each collage prioritizes diversity and inclusivity, and acts as a connection point that shows us just how fluid our world really is (with some easter eggs for fans along the way). Whether it be sexual expression, gender identity, freedom of speech, or the power of crypto, this collection shows us that the boundaries we’ve placed on our lives are all rapidly melting away.
Rabbit Tales
Fun fact: Since PLAYBOY’s second issue in December 1954, a Rabbit of some kind has appeared on nearly every cover of PLAYBOY magazine—sometimes prominently, often cleverly hidden (and in some cases—more than once). Some are surprisingly hard to find, and editors often provided readers with a light-hearted clue in the table of contents of each issue. Slimesunday agreed to help us continue the tradition by concealing our mischievous mascot in each NFT in the Liquid Summer Collection.
