The World of Mindzeye takes us on a tour of three places that shaped Michael's life and career as a photographer. Starting with where it all began, "The Senator" gives us a glimpse of Toronto, the place where Michael was born and the city he still calls his home. More than that, Toronto is also where Michael started his journey with photography, capturing images of daily life on the streets. After finding photography, Michael knew that he wanted to explore the medium more and he booked his first photography trip to New York, which he shows us with the piece "Metropolis". It was on that first photography trip to New York that Michael fell in love with photography, honed his craft and found the style that is instantly recognizable today. As he honed his skills on that first trip, he realized that he wanted to become a full time photographer and that takes us to Poland, represented by "The Old Town by Day" (depicting the city of Gdańsk). It was here that Michael's journey came full circle. Poland is the home of his ancestors and, fittingly, his first trip to visit was in 2020 when he traveled there to work with Polska, the Polish Tourism Organization. His life had now come full circle, from finding photography in Toronto, to honing his craft in New York, and photography taking him on his first trip to Poland, the home of Michael's ancestors, photography is at the heart of The World of Mindzeye.
