CLINTON T. HOBART X METAFLARE 1/1 AUCTION

METAFLARE is a decentralized collective of creators that is focused on delivering innovative experiences with unprecedented value to the Metaverse with the goal of accelerating the mass adoption of NFTs. We are pushing the boundaries of what's possible with digital collectibles to empower artists, companies, and brands with the tools to participate in the digital renaissance. In our first drop, we partnered with Licensed Disney artist Clinton T. Hobart to bring his stunning still-life imagery to the blockchain in his debut NFT collection.

The winner of the 1/1 auction will be delivered an Infinite Object of the NFT. If the reserve price of $12,000 is met, the winner will receive the ORIGINAL GUS physical painting which took 6 months to paint.

Physical redemptions will be done through meta-flare.com 44 days after launch. ALL NFTs purchased in this drop will act as METAFLARE access passes for future collaborative drops. A NEW ERA HAS BEGUN.

The Story of "GUS"

"While passing through West Virginia several years ago, I was walking down an aisle and sitting on the shelf, all by himself, was this sad-looking green frog. He was in exactly the same position as he is in the painting. I knew immediately that he needed to be painted so I purchased him. My car was full at the time, and the frog, who I named Gus, had nowhere to sit but upfront with me. So I drove to my show with a large green stuffed frog in my passenger seat. As soon as I got home, I put Gus on a platform to paint and realized how large he was. I decided to paint him life size so the painting is actually 30x30 inches. I also decided to add a draped background to give it the feeling of being on stage. The fur was definitely the trickiest part and it took me days to figure out how to recreate the texture. Overall, the painting itself took over six months to paint." - CLINTON T. HOBART

About the Artist

Clinton T. Hobart is a Fine Artist and Licensed Disney Fine Artist. He creates original oil paintings of a wide variety of subjects ranging from classical subject matter such as fruit and eggshells to more modern subjects such as Mickey Mouse and Doritos. Even his Disney paintings are technically still-life because he works from real objects in front of him. If he cannot find the objects he desires to paint he frequently will build elaborate "Sets" to work from. For his painting of the tower from the Disney movie Tangled he constructed a four-foot-tall replica of it made out of stone, mortar, cardboard, plaster, and wood. The sculpture has since become as popular as the actual painting.

In addition to painting for Disney, Hobart also paints still-life, portraits, cosplay paintings, and ocean waves. He has been featured on NBC News, FOX News, The CW, ABC News, and American Artist magazine. He appeared on CBS News with Scott Pelle after a Chinese company sold forged copies of his paintings online. Afterward, the Huffington Post mentioned the story in an article stating that Clinton was part of a “sting operation.” Hobart’s painting “A Portrait of Doritos”  is in the private collection of actor Michael Rooker from Guardians Of The Galaxy and The Walking Dead. This collection opens on October 8th at 6:30pm ET. It features a 1/1 auction and 2 open editions. All NFTs featured in this drop have aspects of physical utility.**
