Memory Studies by Julian Johnson

This collection, Memory Studies, was created by photographing and collaging images together, then digitally painting the composition using colors sampled from individual pixels. Featuring moments from the artist’s time in New York, Texas, and Mexico, these two pieces meditate on the blurring of built and natural environments, surveillance in social spaces, and the ephemerality of photography itself in an overstimulated visual culture.
