The story takes place in the Ape universe . It describes the medieval Apeocalypto race. As their intelligence progressed, the monkeys entered into natural power balance wars with humans. They lost many wars at first, then they improved themselves and balanced the balance of power. But this situation was now out of control and there was a massive nuclear war. Officially, the world was doomed, and everything was starting again in the post-apocalyptic structuring. The human race was now a minority, all technology was destroyed and the Earth was reset. The Apes and people started from scratch, but the more durable and healthy Apes were already in the middle ages when people were in the first age.
