LOVE AND LUST
Love and Lust collection explores the hidden meaning in both of these strong emotions. The foundation of love and its mysterious language. The allure of lust and the ambiguous attraction.
The collection is in the theme of Valentine’s Day with inspiration from great artists such as Yayoi Kusama, Botticelli and Henri Fuseli.
In this collection Monica asks the important question of
Who do you lust for?
Whom do you love?
She explores the underlying meanings of these complex questions to provide some self-reflected answers.
Head Over Heels
This explores the moment when one has let go of the doubts and dives head first into the feeling, whatever it may be. Inspired by Henry Fuseli “The nightmare” the figure is letting go. The nightmare originally made with the depiction of a devil on top of the figure, is this what love is like? Is the devil still on top but simply hidden from view?
Rebirth
This is a remake of Sandro Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus.” In this updated version, the goddess is adorned by her long flowing hair and is in a lush greenery like scene. Her beauty makes people lust for her. Her charm makes people fall in love with her. A true goddess. A creature of Love and Lust.
