MASKED TRADITIONS

Released Feb 21, 2023

MASKED TRADITIONS

Masks have been an important part of the traditions of their different tribes. These masks are associated with various rituals and ceremonies and are an integral part of tribal culture. Those who want to maintain their beliefs and traditions are shown as reactionary and bigoted.

Since some traditions are closely related to folk beliefs, it is sometimes difficult and perhaps unnecessary to distinguish between tradition and ritual. But tradition and ritual differ from each other, at least in the abstract. Rituals are often performed to influence the future.

Tradition, on the other hand, is carried out to affect the present moment abstractly.

These behaviors are sometimes associated with new beliefs or simply perpetuated out of habit.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Sinan Aslan is a CGI artist. He lives in Turkey and graduated from Eskişehir Anadolu Faculty of Architecture and Design, Interior Architecture. His works are on 3D visuals and 3D animations. With these works; I give life to the beings that I portray in my imagination by building their world. My surreal figurative works mainly focus on the dilemmas of daily life. These works of mine have taught me to break out of the mold and push my limits. It revealed what was in me. With a life that can be real, I open the doors of the virtual world to them. I offer them an alternative world, both as a scenario and as a place. The important thing is to discover yourself. My work in this direction gains continuity with each passing day and it excites me.
