Kaledible is an optic game toying with perception. It is an edible visual experience with a synesthetic approach that teases your eyes through visual stimuli that calls to other senses.
The word “Kaleidoscope” comes from Greek: καλός (kalos), "beauty", εἶδος (eidos), “what is seen: form, shape"[3] and σκοπέω (skopeō), “to look, to see”, meaning the "observation of beautiful forms." All 4 artworks follow the main principles of a kaleidoscope: two or more mirrors at an angle showing different perspectives of the subject through repeated reflections.
This series is an exploration around “Foodporn” or how visual language is regularly used to portray food in a visually striking and appetizing way. No matter what the subject is, a series of techniques make sure it directly connects with your deep desires and impulses.
Several food styling tricks have been used in the creation of these artworks, revealing the staged nature of the composition and the unnatural character of what we see. The compositions are distorted by the reflections, cutting and repeating the images endlessly, but they are also distorted in the task of representing reality.
