Masquerade: Our True Selves by Jonathan Thunder

The collection of work Thunder has prepared is part of an ongoing body of work that explores and marries our inner selves to the identities we take on to become the person we are inspired to be.Bears are a representation of the protector in us. in Ojibwe culture, bears represent medicine keepers and healers. The rabbit-skull masks are Thunder’s depiction of a trickster, bringing the duality of a person together as one.
