Plan X Art Gallery is pleased to introduce “WASTELAND” by Francesco De Molfetta aka "DEMO". In parallel to his solo exhibition at Plan X gallery Capri, the artist is presenting his first collection of NFTs combined with the actual physical sculptural exhibition. The main characters in this collection are some of his most famous pieces exhibited in art galleries and museums all around the world.
Francesco De Molfetta's art is bold and holds back no punches. In his works are often featured world-famous Pop icons that the artist distorts to spread his ouvert critique on our contaminated society with weak morals. De Molfetta is a prankster, a by-product of the ’80s and ’90s, he questions the legitimacy of the very society that has shaped his ideology and psyche through humor and irony in his art.
His creations bare vulnerability and humanity; through his work, the viewer gains an overview of "updated" mainstream icons, portrayed in opposition to glamourous social media-inflicted standards. However, as you peel back the layers of his artworks, at the core there is always a glimmering light of hope and wisdom.
