In 2010, a man named Laszlo Hanyecz made history by completing the first real-world transaction using Bitcoin. He used 10,000 Bitcoins to purchase two pizzas from a Papa John's in Florida. At the time, the value of those 10,000 Bitcoins was around $40, but today it would be worth over $500 million USD. This transaction is considered to be a significant event in the history of Bitcoin as it marked the first time the cryptocurrency was used to purchase a tangible item.
Jan 23 - special edition, as tasty as we hope those pizzas were.
