The Final Burn by x0r

Burn 2 and Burn 3 will happen simultaneously on December 17th. Here is the full outline of this combined burn mechanic: First, like Burn 1, there will be ONE burn account in which all gas will be sent to.

If you hold an ultrasound NFT (on NG), you only need to send 1 gas to enter into the burn. Otherwise, you need to send 2 gas to enter into the burn.

Ultrasound acts as a “gas discount” to participate in the burn. The snapshot to validate if you are qualified for the discount will happen AFTER the burn, so you will want to hold your ultrasound NFT for a bit after the burn period concludes.

Everyone can enter into the burn as many times as they would like. For example, assume you want to enter the burn 3 times. If you own ultrasound and want to enter 3 times into the burn, you need to send 3 gas to the burn account. If you don’t own an ultrasound and want to enter 3 times into the burn, you need to send 6 gas to the burn account.

The burn period will end Monday, December 20th at 8am EST

How is this a combined burn event? After the burn period ends, you will receive one NFT for each burn entry. That NFT will be randomly selected between two possible NFTs (one more rare than the other). The probability and rarity will be announced after the burn is complete. It is possible that someone whom enters 3 times may receive 3 editions of the same NFT.

In EIP-1559, transaction fees include two components: a base fee (which is burned) and a miner tip (awarded to the miner of a block). Since the overall theme of the Gas NFT and burns is EIP-1559, we must honor the miner tip. All 11 gas mask NFT holders at the conclusion of burn 2/3 will be rewarded with a “Tip.” A small portion of all gas burned during these rounds will be split amongst the gas mask holders. ⛽👺
