Carpe Diem. Live in the moment, seize the day, enjoy the present. For time, similar to the seamless and infinite loop of this artwork, has an interesting way of slipping unnoticed through our fingers.
And although we oftentimes find ourselves so focused and consumed on swinging into the next chapter of our lives, we are simultaneously allowing the beauty of the current moment to escape us. Something we so easily sacrifice, yet will never have the ability to get back.
To the young - let this be an example.
Play, dream, create, imagine, learn, and explore. Be bold, be fierce, be kind and always be you. Don’t rush to grow up, but when you finally do, make sure to still keep a piece of that child alive inside of you.
To the old - let this be a reminder. We have created a world that makes it nearly impossible to still be a child. To live protected and blissful in innocent youth.
We have poisoned young minds, exposing them too soon and too quick. Trading toys, books and crayons for phones, tablets and remotes. Teaching them to find the ‘right answers’ not think creatively or on their own. Blurring the boundaries between our child and our friend.
Children are children and need to remain so. Let them be free, innocent and young.
Teach them the love of learning, exploring and joy of creating. To dance like no one is watching, laugh like they’ve never laughed before and celebrate every moment like it will be the last.
Carpe Diem. Live in the moment, seize the day, enjoy the present. For time doesn’t stop, not even for our children, and one day they will be grown.
Leave your stress, work and problems at the door. Turn it off, if only for a few moments, and be there for that little soul.
Because in the mind of a child, that time just meant the world.
