Saucebook Sundays Presents
Anthony Galigo - Open Editions
Welcoming back one of our favorite artists from the Tradigital drop
This is why I love Anthony Galigo - I've rarely come across someone who combines talent with humility in the way Anthony does. But his community spirit is also phenomenal - whenever I put the call out for a deserving cause, I know that Anthony will be one of the first responders every time. He has a rich and varied back-story which I'm slowly discovering.
But here's what Anthony has to say about himself and this collection...
"I first became a fan of surrealism when I was ten years old and saw an art book at the library. That started my journey of learning about as many art forms as I could get my hands on. I have been influenced by so many artists. I find inspiration from the streets to the museums. I remember being at the LOUVRE in Paris and spending hours and hours staring at the beauty and craftmanship of all the work on the walls. I created an altar piece for the day of the dead at the MEXICAN FINE ARTS MUSEUM IN CHICAGO. I was included in the book Defining Latin American Art by Dorothy Chaplik. I also participated and produce a short video of a 200 ft. woodcut with the Mexican printmaking workshop on State and Randolph streets in downtown Chicago on September 3 1994. I have been creating art on midjourney since June 2022. I was included in the DARK ART RISING show in 2022 at the SuperchiefGalleryNFT gallery in L.A., the imnotart gallery in Chicago and the 30 Campos Elíseos gallery in new York city. My goals are to keep creating digital art as I turn 70 this year. So jump aboard and hang on for the ride."
